Tasks:
- Demonstrates strong understanding of Comcast products, promoting and
selling offerings to individual customers by knocking every door within
assigned territory. Displays thorough and recent competitive knowledge
of features, benefits, product differences, pricing, and campaigns for
video, high-speed internet, and phone services.
- Communicates and develops rapport with customers. Evaluates customer's
existing and potential product needs and makes recommendations.
Increases customer understanding of Comcast products and pricing models
as well as competitive advantage over other service providers. Evaluates
competitive offers and frames responses to show the benefits of
Comcast.
- Meets and exceeds sales goals as established by local market.
Independently establishes and organizes daily sales activities.
Generates business through established and approved creative methods of
lead generation. Implements effective sales closing techniques to ensure
product installation goal is achieved.
- Demonstrates a record of success in outbound sales environment with
emphasis on business to consumer sales.
- Displays thorough understanding of video, high-speed internet, and
phone services.
- Possesses impeccable communication, organizational, and people skills,
as well as strong customer service skills.
- Illustrates strong technical capability (computer knowledge, billing
system, databases).
- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters
of significance.
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work
nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.

Overview:
A Direct Sales Representative (DSR) is a field sales position that targets residential consumers of video, digital cable, high-speed internet and phone services. The purpose of the role is to utilize established and approved methods to increase product penetration and generate business in designated territories. A DSR's focus is on new sales for potential customers and win-back sales for former Comcast subscribers. In addition, the DSR is responsible for attaining sales goals, managing sales and installation logistics, and maintaining sales activity reports. The following Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) are essential for a DSR to succeed in this role.

MAJOR DUTIES: (May perform any or all of the following duties.)
Knowledge
A DSR must be able to demonstrate knowledge of the cable and telecommunications industry, as well as sales techniques. Essential knowledge for this role includes the following:
• Sales
o Knowledge of sales techniques and methods for effectively demonstrating and promoting Comcast products.
o Strong understanding of Comcast products, including competitive knowledge of features, benefits, product differences and pricing.
• Customer Service
o Knowledge of customer excellence standards, which include needs assessment, quality standards for service, and established or approved customer satisfaction.

Skills
In the DSR role, there are certain skills that are important for the person to have, which will contribute to their effectiveness in both the short- and long-term. These skills include:
• Communication
o The skillfulness/ability to engage a customer quickly in order to allow for a review of their cable, internet and phone service.
? Use of this information to perform needs assessment, ultimately yielding recommendations for solutions based on their current account information.
o Demonstration of active listening skills, which give the potential customer the opportunity speak and providing full attention to their concerns.
o Verbal communication / speaking skills, and being able to clearly articulate information.
o Presentation skills essential to obtaining a customer's focus and attention, while effectively demonstrating the benefit of the Comcast product and /or service.
o Customer Orientation skills and the understanding of how to orient the sale or encounter in order to best serve and respond to the customer's needs.
o Social interaction skills, including the perception of others' reactions and utilizing the correct approach to respond to their reactions.

In short, a DSR should have an entrepreneurial spirit who is able to develop and carry-out a sales business in the designated territory with little directive. o The ability to develop rapport with a customer from the on-set.
o The ability to focus the sales encounter on the customer experience and not solely on the sale itself.

o The use of deductive reasoning to translate a needs assessment into a product or service solution appropriate for the customer.
o The ability to have a conversation with the customer and clearly articulate their needs from a business standpoint, as well as how we can meet these needs and the appropriate pricing model for this solution.

• Administrative
o Develop associated customer paperwork and ensure that all sales transactions are completed according to procedure.
o Maintain reports on all daily activity and report into the DSR supervisor on a pre-determined schedule basis.
o Ensure accurate order taking, either when calling the order entry department directly or entering individual orders in a DSX system.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
High school diploma or the recognized equivalent in work experience and self-study; Prefer college degree in sales, marketing or related area

Experience:
• Prefer minimum of 2 years of field sales experience
• Experience working in a result-focused sales environment with defined sales goals and quotas.
• Proven record of success including experience generating and closing sales.

Salary:
Base + Commission
