E-Commerce Sales Graduate Programme Job in Slough, London Uk

E-Commerce Sales Graduate Programme (Start Date January 2012)

Amazon are the global leaders in e-commerce – we strive to think big and continuously deliver our customers with the best online experience.  We do not take no for an answer and are relentless in our quest to being Earth’s most customer centric Company where consumers can buy anything.

Our e-Commerce Sales Graduate Programme based in the Merchant Services team is not for the faint of heart – we are looking for like minded, ambitious Graduates – individuals who will work hard to become the next generation of leaders at Amazon and who will rise to any challenge.  On completion of the Programme you should have a 360° knowledge of Amazon Services as well as our Retail Operations, and be in a strong position to step in to a more senior position either within Merchant Services or one of the other business teams.

Structured across an 18 month period, you will join as a Graduate Sales Account Specialist in the Merchant Services team with your core role to deliver new business growth and maximise revenue generation across Amazon’s suite of products for third party merchants and in particular ‘Selling on Amazon’.  You will prospect, call, qualify and launch high potential new merchants who will deliver competitive selection, pricing and product availability in order to achieve your quarterly sales target. You will also act as an Account Manager for a number of high priority sellers helping them to grow their business with Amazon thorough understanding about our systems and tools.

This is not your average Graduate scheme - you need to be a strong multi-tasker and possess excellent time management skills because as well as hitting your targets, you will also need to research and prepare for your placements in other parts of the organisation.

You will have exposure to certain aspects of the Amazon Business, split between the Services and Retail Operations including:-

Checkout by Amazon                                   Webstore                                          Site Merchandising

Online Display Advertising                          Retail Vendor Management       Fulfilment by Amazon

Print on Demand                                           Amazon Web Services                   Customer Service Operations

Retail In-stock Management                     Gift Cards                                          Merchant Product Management

We operate in a fast-paced environment and you will be expected to have an in-depth knowledge of the different business areas in advance of the placements so that you gain the most from the experience. Upon completion of your placements (typically one day a week in that team for a one month period), you will be given a project related to that business function which you will need to complete and present to the relevant stakeholders, and be assessed on by your manager.  Success in these projects is fundamental to your success at Amazon and form the foundation for your career.

We have a high performance bar and hire only the highest calibre of Graduate and offer them an environment in which they can invent and innovate – in return you need to be driven, motivated and enthusiastic – someone who is prepared to learn and wants to develop and grow at a fast pace.

Even though the Programme is owned by the Graduate, we provide resources and support for you to not only fulfil your core Sales Account Specialist Role, but also to be able to take an active part in all the placements.  You will be supported throughout by a Buddy as well as a Mentor (generally from outside your immediate team), have weekly meetings with your Manager as well as regular meetings with the Graduate Program Leader, and take part in in-depth training courses which will help prepare you for your placements.
