ECAPS Business Analyst recruitment

With ING’s Banking and Insurance/Investment Management businesses splitting into stand-alone companies, Insurance/IM is currently setting up international headquarters in Amsterdam. ING’s Insurance and Investment Management business currently employs over 30,000 people and operates in around 30 countries with leading positions in insurance, retirement planning and investment management in both mature and developing markets. Next step will be to prepare for a Europe-led IPO with strong growth positions in developing markets and a US-focused IPO; while continuing to seek new ways to give our customers more control over their financial life.

Your main responsibilities:
As a Business Analyst, your key responsibilities will be to build strong relationships with ECAPS’s stakeholders; you will be in charge of analyzing and translating (complex) business requirements and user wishes into functional design documents. As the business partner of the stakeholders, you are “the bridge” to the ECAPS Team. You understand the drivers of our stakeholders, and are able to challenge them on the necessity, desirability and priority. As a Business Analyst, you work closely with the Project Managers and project team members during the full project life cycle, including development and test activities. Effective communication between all involved and relevant parties is crucial.

Your experience skills:
• Relevant Master degree, preferable in Econometrics, Mathematics or Business Administration
• A minimum of 3 years relevant experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in a consulting role in an international insurance environment
• Project experience with developing, designing and delivering of (financial) applications
• Working knowledge of Solvency II and/or risk-modeling
• Knowledge of and experience with Algo and Second Floor is a plus
• Experience in a business partner role towards stakeholders
• Experience supporting application development and writing functional designs
• Ability to understand and translate business requirements into project proposals
• Good understanding of the Insurance industry; experience in Risk or investment management is a plus
• General knowledge of financial instruments/ products and (Insurance) Risk Management
• Excellent skills in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Fluent in English
• Highly analytical, able to quickly grasp complex problems

ECAPS is a cutting-edge market risk management system used by Corporate Risk Management and the insurance business units of ING Insurance worldwide. ECAPS was awarded the prestigious Banking Finance ICT Innovation Award in 2007. ECAPS uses replicating portfolios to value the insurance liabilities and calculate the AFR and Economic Capital.
The ECAPS team consists of highly qualified Risk Analysts, Business Analysts, System Engineers and Project Managers.
The Business Analysts and Project Managers are the “business partners” representing ECAPS towards Business units, Regional offices, Regulators etc. In conversation with all stakeholders, requirements will be defined and translated into project deliverable documents or change requests.
