ECAPS Project Manager recruitment

With ING’s Banking and Insurance/Investment Management businesses splitting into stand-alone companies, Insurance/IM is currently setting up international headquarters in Amsterdam. ING’s Insurance and Investment Management business currently employs over 30,000 people and operates in around 30 countries with leading positions in insurance, retirement planning and investment management in both mature and developing markets. Next step will be to prepare for a Europe-led IPO with strong growth positions in developing markets and a US-focused IPO; while continuing to seek new ways to give our customers more control over their financial life.

Your main responsibilities:
As a Project Manager, your key responsibilities will be to set up and successfully execute significant projects which contribute to the development of ECAPS. Projects can result from new business requirements (e.g. from Corporate Risk/ Business Units/ Regional offices) and initiatives for improvements of existing functionality, or projects can be driven by regulatory requirements. You manage the full project life-cycle and all involved resources; you deliver on promises, within budget and schedule, following ING standards; you are the Business partner for our internal clients. Within ECAPS you will closely work together with the Business Analysts and Risk Analysts.
Your experience and skills:
• Relevant Master degree, preferable in Econometrics, Mathematics or Business Administration
• A minimum of 3 years relevant experience as a Project Manager, preferably in a consulting role in an international insurance environment
• Good working knowledge of project management methodologies as PRINCE2 or IPMA
• A proven track record in delivering project results, managing project teams and an ability to liaise with senior staff are mandatory
• Project experience with developing, designing and delivering of (financial) applications
• Knowledge of and experience with Algo and Second Floor is a plus
• Working knowledge of Solvency II and/or risk-modeling
• Experience in a business partner role towards stakeholders
• Experience managing application development
• Good understanding of the Insurance industry; experience in Risk or investment management is a plus
• General knowledge of financial instruments/ products and (Insurance) Risk Management
• Excellent skills in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Fluent in English
• Highly analytical, able to quickly grasp complex problems
• Mentality to get things done
• Flexible, capable of working under pressure in a changing environment
• Communicative, capable of digesting/transferring information from/to different levels of professionals and business disciplines
• Can create a team spirit, but also able to work autonomously
• Ability to work in cross functional teams in an international environment

ECAPS is a cutting-edge market risk management system used by Corporate Risk Management and the insurance business units of ING Insurance worldwide. ECAPS was awarded the prestigious Banking Finance ICT Innovation Award in 2007. ECAPS uses replicating portfolios to value the insurance liabilities and calculate the AFR and Economic Capital.
The ECAPS team consists of highly qualified Risk Analysts, Business Analysts, System Engineers and Project Managers.
