eCommerce Sales Engagement Manager
Merchant Solutions is dedicated to exceeding the expectations of CBA's business customers by offering innovative and compelling banking solutions, supported by a simple and easy origination experience. Merchant Solutions works closely with BPB and IBM sales and distribution channels to provide solutions that cover all card acceptance needs.
- Merchant Solutions is responsible for the development and running of the CBA's card payment acceptance networks including EFTPOS credit and debit cards such as Visa and MasterCard, as well as charge cards such as American Express. CBA's merchant network is Australia's largest and covers small retailers through to large supermarket chains as well as internet bill payments and IVRs.
- The Major Transactions team within the Merchant Solutions business consists of two teams, Pricing team and the Sales Engagement team.
- Pricing team is responsible for maintaining, implementing and monitoring pricing for Merchant Solutions products, as well as assisting our Sales Segments acquire new to Bank customers. The key objective of the team is to optimise the value to the Bank from Merchant Solutions products whilst remaining competitive in the market.
Sales Engagement team is responsible for assisting and training our stakeholder groups to ensure that our stakeholders are knowledgeable in Merchant Solutions products. The team is also responsible for activities like delivering client seminars and pre-sales consulting/support for the Institutional Banking and Corporate Financial Services sales segments as well as assisting in the management of major client implementations.
Role Purpose:
- Drive eCommerce Merchant Solutions sales for the Institutional Banking and top tier CFS Segments, this includes building and maintaining a sales pipeline of opportunities
- Deliver client seminars and pre-sales consulting to educate customers on eCommerce
- Understand latest industry and customer trends that are driving eCommerce developments and impart these insights to customers and segments within Commonwealth Bank
- Deliver presentations and train relevant Commonwealth Bank segments in eCommerce product range including latest trends that impact segments and customer insights
- Assist the management of major merchant implementations for Merchant Solutions focussed primarily across the eCommerce Product set.
Key Accountabilities:
- Drive Pre Sales activity for Merchant Solutions eCommerce products to implementation
- Be a SME for eCommerce and mCommerce for both internal and external clients
- Ensure relevant segment staff are updated on eCommerce products, solutions and customer insights
- Create, manage and deliver information that can be presented to internal and external customers, either by presentation or written form to support eCommerce sales
- Create and maintain effective business relationships with all Channel stakeholders, including client facing, operations and development. This should explicitly involve IBM, product colleagues, and CFS
Qualifications and Experience Required:
Essential
- Experience working in the eCommerce landscape
- Understanding of eCommerce/mCommerce payment gateway technologies capabilities
- Understanding of Australian online payments landscape, technologies and capabilities e.g. QkR contactless
- Understanding of PCI-DSS, tokenisation and fraud prevention solutions
- Understanding of Card-Present (EFTPOS), Point of sale (POS) Unattended solutions
- Understanding of bespoke/custom integrations into merchant operated eCommerce (shopping cart/CRM/Finance/Billing) software systems
- Sound presentation skills, with the ability to present to a variety of audiences in different
Desirable
- A consultative sales background
- Commercially relevant degree, preferably at post-graduate level
- Knowledge of the Financial Services industry
- Strong numerical and conceptual analytical skills and the ability to quickly identify fundamental economic and business issues
- Strong business writing skills
- Use a consultative approach to be able to identify broader sales opportunities
