Our economic modelling unit within the KPMG Economics practice, a specialist division of our Government Advisory Services practice, is a leading provider of advisory services to both government and business in both Australia and abroad, with particular expertise and a long-standing market-leading reputation in economic modelling.
As a result of internal promotion we are seeking an exceptional and highly motivated economist to join our Canberra team as Manager or Senior Manager. This position can offer:
- Flexibility - work across a wide range of economic/policy topics including; major investment projects; industry policy; regulation; climate change; health; employment and education policies; direct and indirect tax policy; macro-policy analysis and forecasting; transportation; resources and mining; international trade; and labour markets. We also provide policy advisory services and capacity building programs in applied economic analysis to domestic and foreign clients in government and the private sector.
- Research - exciting opportunities to take part in research based work with partner universities, both domestic and abroad.
- Travel - this role will not only take you to both domestic and international locations, but can also offer secondment opportunities globally.
To be successful you will ideally hold a Masters or PhD in the field of economics with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience in the workforce. Demonstrated success in any combination of the following areas will also be viewed favourably:
- CGE modelling
- Econometrics and economic forecasting
- Economic analysis
- Applied policy analysis
