Editorial Analyst / Pharma Journalist recruitment
Applying your experience and knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, the primary function of your role will be to assist the editorial team in identifying, researching and writing analysis on the latest news, trends and themes in the pharmaceutical industry.
The job would suit an analyst or journalist with a strong pharma and financial background.
The chosen candidate must have a deep understanding of all aspects of the pharmaceutical industry, including latest trends and themes in MA, licensing, financing, RD issues, the regulatory environment and reimbursement. An inquisitive mind, an eye for detail and a keen desire to improve and increase the reach and influence of EP Vantage is also a must.
The successful candidate would also be expected to use our proprietary database to help identify trends, generate story ideas and write analytical commentary, so strong database manipulation and excel skills would also be desirable.
For candidates with limited editorial experience, expanding your skills into areas such as writing longer articles and conducting interviews will be supported by internal and external training. Conversely, for candidates with limited financial analysis or data manipulation experience, internal and external training will also be provided, but the candidate must have the enthusiasm to acquire these skills.
Responsibilities
- Monitoring daily news flow from a wide variety of sources
- Contribute to daily morning news conference with the editorial team
- Explore and develop processes in which data analysis can be turned into high-value editorial content on a daily basis
- Come up with new story ideas, identify industry themes and trends using EvaluatePharma data
- Writing stories, from brief comments to longer in-depth pieces
- Attending medical and partnering conferences (UK and overseas)
- Interviewing senior company executives, doctors, consultants and investors to generate proprietary content and breaking news stories.
- Support the Editor in mapping out a story agenda, identifying key story types for the team to work on, including upcoming Events, Therapeutic Focus and Vantage Points
- Support the editorial team’s social media strategy, mainly through Twitter and LinkedIn
