eFX Development Manager

The technical Development Manager is responsible for the eRisk portfolio within the overall programme. Responsible for the management of multiple streams of change within Pricing and Risk working alongside the Project Manager and covering the following technologies and initiatives as directed by the Portfolio Manager and the Global eRisk business head.

 

Technical Development managers own technical resources and are responsible for the design development of systems, technical leadership (design, standards, best practice, technical strategy), implementing best practice/process (e.g. prioritisation, change control, links with testing/Architecture/Support teams) + general management.

The Development Manager will be responsible for:

• Management of team of 10-20 Java software engineers and team leads.

• Development and ownership of technical strategy for eRisk systems in conjunction with Global business head and eFX Programme Portfolio Manager.

• Working directly with Quants and Traders on specifications and rapid development of algorithmic trading and pricing models.

 

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE

• Java, Solaris, Linux, RMDS, 29 West, SQL (Oracle), Coherence.

• Low Latency High Frequency Trading systems - Foreign Exchange.

• Technical management of full software life cycle (platforms are Solaris and Java).

• Management of teams of 10-20 developers and technical team leads.

BUSINESS KNOWLEDGE

• Front Office trading risk management in Foreign Exchange.

• Operation of trading desks in a large, multi-site Investment Bank with significant eCommerce offering

• Foreign Exchange in a high volume low latency environment.

• Experience working on enterprise systems but also agile delivery of Quant and Business requirements.

• Spot FX market conventions

• Forward FX market conventions
