EHR/ CLINICAL Programs Technology Director Job in Tulsa 74120, Oklahoma US

The EHR/Program Technology Director is responsible for successful implementation and ongoing management of a new EHR system. Position is also charged with consulting with program management to design and deliver effective and emerging technology solutions for the agency’s programs that result in the most efficient and effective service delivery supporting best possible client outcomes.

DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage EHR Project Implementation

  1. Provide project management support for implementation of EHR system.
  2. Lead project team and coordinate with vendor to develop a comprehensive plan for all aspects of EHR implementation, including process improvement, chart conversion, installation, and data conversion; coordinate all vendor implementation activities.
  3. Monitor progress throughout entire EHR implementation project and provide regular
    updates to agency management and stakeholders.
  4. Oversee project management and logistics such as project timelines, agenda development, production and distribution of meeting minutes, and documents and preparation of reports on project status and activities to various audiences.
  5. Communicate regularly with team stakeholders and senior management about team progress
    toward goal achievement, critical factors, and obstacles.
  6. Coordinate training as needed for agency staff on EHR systems.
  7. Educate agency staff about EHR opportunities, issues, and challenges.
  8. Review vendor offerings and make recommendations for those best suited to agency.
  9. Maintain an issues resolution log, escalating issues as appropriate.
  10. Routinely monitor adoption and use of the EHR and take/recommend corrective action
    as necessary.
  11. Apply updates as applicable, evaluate and recommend upgrades and enhancements,
    and work with users to develop reports and other uses of EHR data.
  12. Maintain documentation on EHR system upgrades or modifications.
  13. Serve as the agency liaison for the My Health HIE committee and oversee integration between this system and the agency EHR.
  14. Work closely with I.T. Staff and Facilities Manager on the budgeting, acquisition and installation of required hardware and software components related to the EHR.
  15. Coordinate schedules to ensure participation in key committees and discussions
  16. Serve as liaison between agency programs and I.T. department for all EHR activity to facilitate communications and teamwork.
  17. Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.


Oversee Technology Development and Decision Support for clinical Programs

  1. Work with CEO and Program Directors to identify and prioritize technology projects to support their data and decision support needs.
  2. Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business and clinical goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  3. Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
  4. Work closely with I.T. Staff and Facilities Manager on the budgeting, acquisition and installation of hardware and software components related to projects for agency programs.
  5. Determine and assess need for additional staff and/or consultants and make the appropriate recruitments if necessary during project cycle.
  6. Develop the analytic and measurement strategy for projects undertaken including development of key metrics, identification of data sources, and collection of baseline data.
  7. Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion; liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
  8. Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
  9. Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools; track project milestones and deliverables.
  10. Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project teams, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas.
  11. Conduct project post mortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
  12. Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.


Supervise Programming/Analyst Staff

  1. Responsible for productivity and development of staff.
  2. Responsibilities include: interviewing, selecting, training and coaching employees; planning,
    setting priorities and directing work; developing performance expectations and
    conducting performance reviews; motivating, rewarding and disciplining
    employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  3. Delegate tasks and responsibilities as appropriate to staff.
  4. Motivate staff to accomplish projects and goals within documented timelines.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in health informatics or related field with minimum of 5 years experience in health care; HIT or other equivalent project management experience; Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential; Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities; Reacts to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently; Flexible during times of change; Ability to read communication styles of team members and contractors who come from a broad spectrum of disciplines; Persuasive, encouraging, and motivating; Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments; Ability to defuse tension among
project team, should it arise; Ability to bring projects to successful completion through political sensitivity; Excellent verbal and written communications skills and public speaking; Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies; Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks
in a high-pressure environment.
