Role Summary/Purpose
This role is to provide day to day support for Environmental Health and Safety initiatives, programs and compliance requirements for Appliance Park Building 3 Dishwashers.
Essential Responsibilities
* Provide proactive leadership of all EHS and medical issues in Appliance Park Building 2/3/4. * Ensure compliance of plant operations with regulatory requirements relating to air, solid waste, chemical, water, health and safety. * Develop and implement new initiatives, programs and process improvements to reduce injuries and illnesses and improve overall EHS performance. * Drive accountability with all functions and associates to aggressively reduce accidents and injuries. * Drive positive change in EHS culture through proactive planning, execution and measurement, communication, and best practice sharing. * Implement and lead safety committee to increase levels of safety performance. * Develop and maintain excellent local and state agency relationships * Reduce worker's compensation and disability costs. * Conduct EHS audits and provide tactical issue resolution. * Conduct and/or validate accident investigations to determine root cause and proactive solutions.
Qualifications/Requirements
* BS or BA Degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety Health, Environmental Science or related discipline. * Minimum 5 years of EHS experience - leading environmental and safety compliance programs in a manufacturing environment * Strong knowledge of OSHA, DOT HMT, EPA regulations * Demonstrated ability to lead in a cross-functional team environment.* Excellent oral and written communication skills.* Ability to prioritize and drive multiple programs.* Proven record of problem solving, results and accomplishments.* Demonstrated knowledge of EHS, GE, and government regulations.
Desired Characteristics
* Master's Degree in an EHS discipline* Manufacturing operational experience * Advanced computer skills. * Six Sigma Greenbelt Certified.* Audit experience or qualifications * Certified Safety Professional and/or Certified Environmental Professional.
