Role Summary/Purpose

The Environmental, Health and Safety Leader is responsible for implementing and maintaining the business strategy of the Environmental, Health and Safety programs for GE. Responsibilities may include determining the strategy on VPP, Global Star, ergonomics, industrial hygiene, safety and chemical regulatory requirements, injury reductions as well as air, climate change, waste, and water issues. This individual will also function in a team environment with other members of the business level EHS

Essential Responsibilities

Key responsibilities/essential functions include:
• Provide EHS guidance and compliance support to site management team to ensure compliance with regulatory and GE program requirements.
• Evaluate facility EHS conditions, assess risks and develop appropriate corrective-action plans and budgets to address deficiencies in comparison to regulations and GE internal policy/protocol.
• Keep management apprised of progress and significant developments on key projects.
• Assist site management in executing GE Healthcare Environmental, Health Safety priorities, metrics, goals and requirements
• Drive continuous improvement in EHS performance and programs
• Ensure robust pipeline and process for VPP/Global Star/HS/Environmental excellence certifications and recognition
• Scope Manage Local EHS Projects, Develop Manage Ongoing Project Budgets
• Support efforts to analyze and communicate performance against expectations, provide feedback, establish and track required actions to improve performance.
• Utilize GE resources, tools best practices to drive local site EHS program improvements
• Using GE EHS digital tools, conduct data mining to identify EHS program trends and develop corrective and preventative actions.
• Assist in responding to significant incidents and government requests/notices
• Interface with environmental, health and safety regulatory agencies as needed
• Provide leadership, support and training to build technical, management and leadership skills of site leadership team in EHS

EHS Quality Specific Goals:
1. Be aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position
2. Complete all planned EHS, Quality Compliance training within the defined deadlines
3. Identify report any EHS Quality compliance concerns and take immediate corrective actions as required
4. Support and contribute to initiatives with GE Corporate and GEHC global EHS teams.
5. Provide technical support to teams developing CAPA for issues involving personnel Health and Safety.

Qualifications/Requirements

1. Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Health Safety, Engineering or related discipline2. 5+ years EHS compliance and program experience for a large corporation or consulting firm3. Must have working knowledge of U.S./European EHS regulations and standards, experience in preparing government submissions and demonstrated effective interaction with regulatory agencies and senior business leaders 4. Excellent leadership, program, project management and interpersonal skills. 5. Excellent written and oral communication skills (English)

Desired Characteristics

1. Technical EHS certification (CIH, CSP, CPE); six sigma green belt (GE only)2. Experience with OSHA VPP or other EHS excellence certification programs, (ISO 14001; OHSAS 18001): SGE qualification 3. MSDS, Chemical Registration, Product Stewardship expertise are a plus
