Electrical Engineer- Stafford Texas (Houston)
Varec Biogas and Division of Westech Industrial Inc. is currently seeking an Electrical Engineer with control systems experience. This position is responsible for developing and implementing projects including the installation of instrumentation and controls systems.
Position Responsibilities: Electrical engineer for the implementation of control systems and process control systems, provide expertise on the design, installation and maintenance of control systems, programmable logic controllers, gas analyzers, compressor, and process control systems. Evaluation of vendor products and provide input and guidance to manufacturing and integration production design and installation of controls systems projects. Support of new process control technology into the site and integration with process control instrumentation and controls. In this position you will be responsible for the creation, modification and management of our computer-aided drafting (CAD) drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD. This position is accountable for providing electrical engineering working with mechanical engineers to provide support and direction to the industrial controls instrumentations. You will provide engineering direction to assist in hardware, wiring and connection integration for the operation of our products. You will be responsible for providing support to the inside sales, application engineering, and manufacturing teams to complete design and assembly projects. A key responsibility of this position is to assist with the design and integration of the final complete products and create complete and accurate SolidWorks or AutoCAD drawing for assembly, testing and operation of the products. Must use sound, independent reasoning and judgment to establish work priorities and respond to changing priorities.
Optimal candidates will be familiar with all the key components of Electrical Panel Design, Circuit Design, Controller Design, Bills of Materials, specs, etc. Familiarity and working knowledge of core electrical and mechanical concepts (e.g., AC/DC), while also having knowledge of NEC, IEC, ATEX and other electrical codes and certifications. Your designs will be installed in highly hazardous and explosive environments, so your comfort with these concepts and codes are critical to the safety of our customers.
Ensure controls system designs are consistent with established codes and standards and industry best practices
Work effectively across all levels of the plant organization, individually and with cross-functional teams
PRIMARY SKILLS REQUIRED includes but is not limited to:
•3-5+ years job experience
The position requires the minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, Instrument Control,
Project Engineering experience required. Electrical Engineering experience required. Knowledge of processing manufacturing facilities
Hours Monday to Friday 7:00 am to 3:30 pm or as work load demands
