ELECTRICAL ENGINEER Job in Van Nuys 91401, California US
We are searching for a Senior Electrical Engineer with medical device experience to join an outstanding growth-mode company in the Van Nuys, CA area. This position involves the study and analysis of new product design and existing product improvement requirements. You will propose, design and develop hardware/firmware architecture and complete design details to implement instrument electronics.
Positions of this nature typically have a salary range of up to $125,000 and offer performance bonus and full benefits package.
We are also looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer for the same client. ME degree and 8 to 10-years’ experience in medical device experience required. Similar salary range to the above position.

Mandatory Requirements:
1. BS degree in Electrical Engineering with 8 to 10-years’ experience in electro-mechanical and fluidic medical devices. Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering is a plus.
2. Advanced level of experience with medical device research and development including the ability to effectively engineer within an established Quality System. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet established timing and budgetary goals. PMP certification is beneficial.
3. High level of competence with engineering software packages such as SolidWorks, mathematical simulation analysis software, and MiniTab statistical software.
4. Ability to commute to the Van Nuys, CA area.
Primary Duties:
· Analyze product or module requirements and prepare detailed proposals for the module architecture and design approaches in hardware/firmware with specification and selections of key components.
· Prepare detailed development and test plans and schedules required to implement proposed designs in hardware including schematics, Gill of Materials and printed circuit boards and firmware for programmable devices.
· Analyze, simulate and predict design response and performance. Participate in design reviews and provide design documents including detailed functional description of designs.
Research and evaluate commercially available components and integrated solutions.
· Direct and coordinate purchase and manufacturing of prototype components and assembly of product.
· Verify the operation of components and systems by conducting and or supervising tests, analyzing data, and preparing reports to document the results.
· Provide engineering support for transition of design to manufacturing including preparation of manuals, assembly procedures, inspection plans, test procedures, and engineering orders.
· Evaluates electrical systems, products, components, and applications by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of electricity and materials.
· Confirms system's and components' capabilities by designing testing methods; testing properties.
· Develops electrical products by studying customer requirements; researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and materials.
· Develops manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for building and assembling electrical components; soliciting observations from operators.
· Assures product quality by designing electrical testing methods; testing finished products and system capabilities.
· Prepares product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
· Provides engineering information by answering questions and requests.
· Maintains product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations.
· Keeps equipment operational by following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting repair service.
· Maintains product data base by writing computer programs; entering data.
· Completes projects by training and guiding technicians.
