Electrician Journeyman

Job Description JOB FUNCTION: Inspect, repair, replace, install, adjust, maintain, and make necessary tests on all electrical systems and equipment 600v or less throughout the facilities. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Work from prints, diagrams, specification, and instructions covering emergency and scheduled repairs; as well as demolition, installation, testing, and inspection of work to be done on electrical systems. Perform preventive maintenance, repair, or replacement of electrical equipment on AC and/or DC systems. Analyze, troubleshoot, modify, install, and repair electrical equipment and circuits using prints, diagrams, and test instruments. Test, inspect, clean, repair, dismantle, adjust, replace, assemble, maintain and lubricate all manual or automatic AC and DC systems, electrical equipment, transformers, switchgear, control panels, regulators, and various other electrical apparatus. Prepare and maintain records and reports on electrical systems equipment, as required for maintenance programs on the basis of all information obtained through tests. Install conduit, wiring and electrical apparatus. Read blueprints and generate bill of materials. Perform other job related duties, as assigned. Maintain part and tool inventories. Directs other repair personnel, as assigned. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Journeyman Electrical License. Thorough working knowledge of national and local electrical codes. Ability to comprehend written and oral instructions. A willingness to work rotational shift if necessary, including days, evenings, and nights, as well as overtime, weekends, and holidays, as required. EXPERIENCE: Four years maintenance and/or construction experience in the electrical trade required. EDUCATION: High school, technical school, apprenticeship, trade school graduate or equivalent required. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. SECURITY: TS/SCI Full-Scope Polygraph required
