Electricians Mate (EM) Instructor
Specific Job Description Perform all tasks in a traditional classroom setting and/or while underway on a Coast Guard vessel; Be physically capable of performing tasks associated with the role of an able body seaman. * Applicants must be able to perform as an instructor while underway for 6-8 hours per day year round. Personal protective gear would be provided by the Coast Guard. Instructional expertise includes: basic physics; AC/DC circuit theory; AC/DC generators and motors theory; electronic circuit theory; Boolean algebra; installation, maintenance, and repair of shipboard and shore power distribution and distribution systems; shipboard navigation systems; signal lights; interior communications systems; and small boat electrical systems.
