Specific Job Description Analyzes malfunctions on a variety of numerical control and electro-mechanical industrial equipment; installs, maintains, repairs or modifies such systems. Performs this function in accordance with the following duties: Contacts necessary personnel to obtain information pertaining to difficulties being encountered in the operation of industrial equipment. Analyzes the reported malfunction to determine whether the difficulty is originating in the control systems or is of a mechanical nature. May reference schematics, wire diagrams, manuals, etc., in order to determine most likely cause of malfunction. Plans operations involved and repairs electronic and/or electro-mechanical equipment and performs periodic maintenance on this type of equipment. Modifies portions of existing electronic and/or electro-mechanical control systems or combinations of systems to incorporate latest designs and/or to include new functions within the control of the system. Analyzes malfunctions, plans and directs the modification, repairing and maintenance of automatic control instruments and related recording devices used in the operation of industrial manufacturing equipment and heating and refrigeration systems. Directs the work of lower graded employees who assist in the accomplishment of the assigned duties and may perform related and lower level maintenance duties. Performs paperwork related to job responsibilities. Extensive electronic systems technical knowledge and experience required.
