EMEA Head of Consumer Compliance recruitment
Job
Purpose:
- The EMEA
Head of Consumer Compliance directs and manages the GCB Compliance
program in EMEA. - The
successful candidate will directly manage the regional
consumer compliance team and work with the respective country
Consumer compliance teams to ensure regulatory and policy
compliance across all Consumer businesses in the
region. - The role
will work directly with the GCB EMEA CEO and the respective GCB
Executive Committee members, providing key strategic compliance
advice. - The role
holder will be expected to work closely with other control
functions throughout the region, and be a member of the EMEA
Compliance Leadership team. Close coordination with Global Head of
GCB - Compliance
is a critical aspect of the role.
Job
Background/context:
- GCB operates
in an increasingly complex regulatory environment in which country
regulators continue to take a far more intensive and intrusive
approach, particularly in relation to product sales to
Consumers. - There is
therefore a need to have dedicated Compliance leadership to ensure
that the highest standards are maintained across all GCB
franchises.
Key
responsibilities:
- Provide key
strategic compliance advisory support to EMEA GCB
Management - Be active
member of EMEA Compliance and EMEA GCB Business Leadership
teams - Develop and
drive the compliance plan for GCB, and ensure effective
execution - Work with
country Compliance teams on delivery of compliance and regulatory
projects affecting Consumer business across the region, leveraging
resource and skill-set as necessary - Manage and
direct regional product SME resource for investments, IPB,NRI and
insurance teams, ensuring activity aligns with and complements
regional priorities and goals - Manage and
direct effective interaction with Internal Audit, external auditors
and regulators to ensure that any compliance issues or matters of
concern within the region are escalated to seniors and resolved in
a timely basis - Critically
analyse risks and issues, control breaks and developments arising
within countries for wider application regionally or
globally. - Implement/drive
investigation and resolution as appropriate - Ensure that
reporting, oversight and feedback mechanisms operate efficiently
within Regional and Global Consumer Compliance and support a
'no surprise' culture, with early surfacing of issues

Compliance program in EMEA - The role
involves regular interaction with seniors within the regional
Compliance and Legal teams, Regional Business Management and Global
Compliance - The role
involves management of direct staff as well as matrix
responsibility for Compliance Officers in the region - The
successful candidate will be involved in a managerial capacity in
all significant projects and issues affecting GCB across the
region
Skills
Knowledge/Experience:
- Strong
industry and relevant compliance knowledge required - Strong
Managerial experience at a senior level - Proven track
record in directing a workforce with diverse skills and
requirements across multiple jurisdictions - A thorough
knowledge required of Citi compliance policies and
procedures, and relevant market practices
Skills:

Qualifications:
- College/University education
preferred but exceptional working track record will be taken into
account
