EMEA Oil Controller – Manager / AVP recruitment
Role Definition
This role involves Product Controller functions supporting the European Commodities Oil business. It encompasses all aspects of the integrated Oil business including financial derivatives, physical storage and freight. The individual will be required to partner with the Business Unit, Operations and Market Risk in order to provide both the guardianship aspect of accurate revenue reporting and service to the business.
Responsibilities
Production, Validation, attribution and reporting of the Daily PL, including:
- Month-end reporting and reconciliations, including:
- Books to Reported
- Physical Inventory recs
- Financial Disclosures
- Enhancing existing PL models to allow for scalability to support growth in the Business Unit
- Adhoc project management regarding standardisation of the PL production process
- Additionally the individual will be required to review other daily Oil PLs and the Oil month end/daily balance sheet.
Skills Required
- Qualified accountant (AC/CIMA or equivalent)
- Work experience within the Commodities industry, in particular the Oil industry and physical oil trading
- Can demonstrate a good understanding of Product Control and prior experience working in a Product Control function
- Proficient MS Excel skills a prerequisite (complex formulae, VBA debugging, etc)
- A proactive self-starter, who also works well within a team
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Sound analytic and problem-solving abilities, as well as an interest and basic understanding of derivatives and the wider market.
