Hays is working with the Ministry of Defence (MoD) to recruit an experienced temporary Ambulance Practitioner Support Worker to work within Boscombe Down, Amesbury, Wiltshire.
This is currently a 2 month full time placement to start ASAP

Operating as part of the APSW team in the event of an aircraft incident or accident in accordance with Boscombe Down Medical Facility Standing Orders and guidelines. During such an event APSWs are required to show responsibility and initiative. A high degree of flight safety awareness and airfield operating procedures are essential

You will be expected:

To work on a rota basis to support the first responder

Daily Inspection of Ambulances and emergency equipment
Ensure Emergency phone is checked 15 minutes before flying begins.
Undertake medical facility reception and clerical duties and maintain a high standard of medical administration in accordance with current DPHC policy and guidelines.
Maintenance of Defence Medical Information Capability Programme (DMICP)
Ability to carry out CPR
Provide Basic Airway Support
Carry out primary and secondary survey
Identifying, managing and immobilising spinal injuries (suspected injury following ejection)
Identifying and managing bleeding
Identifying and managing head injuries/unconscious casualties
Identifying and managing chest injuries
Treating burns
Extricate/removing casualty
Understanding the principles of triage
