The Emerging Markets International Affairs Group at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York supports two of the Bank's key objectives: fostering international financial stability and expanding international relationships.

The Financial Markets and Institutions function (FMI) is responsible for analyzing international financial sectors, including such issues as: banking sector condition and performance; credit and funding conditions; systemic risks; supervision and regulation; and associated financial reform and policy issues. FMI also analyzes debt and equity market developments in countries under coverage, and works on projects encompassing a wide range of international financial issues. FMI analysts maintain extensive external relationships with members of the financial and official community, and regularly brief and inform senior management on international financial sector developments and policy issues.
