The Role
Bloomberg News seeks an editor in its Singapore office to join its Asia Pacific Energy and Commodities team. The successful candidate will be a team player who is passionate about breaking news and dealing with the region's biggest stories. Bloomberg seeks self-starters with the ability to translate often complex themes into clear, accurate, and compelling stories and who have the experience to help reporters break news. Knowledge of the economy, financial markets, and business is essential, and at least three years of business editing and / or writing experience at a major newspaper or wire service is preferred. The candidate should have experience editing commodities stories and knowledge of the renewable energy market would be an added advantage.

The new editor will work closely with BNEF (Bloomberg New Energy Finance) teams in London and in Asia, ensuring that all relevant Bloomberg News content on Asia/Oceania is published on the BNEF Desktop and in the Newswatch, and that 'first takes' written by BNEF analysts are added to stories.

The editor will focus on breaking news, such as company earnings and takeovers, as well as commodity market stories. This person in this role will also help produce enterprise pieces on a regular basis. The successful applicant is expected to have superior news judgment, with the ability to make snap decisions about stories that regularly appear on TOP, Bloomberg's front page.

The person in this role must be fluent in English and the ability to converse in an additional Asian language would be desirable.

Qualifications:
