Trane’s America’s Services and Contracting has professionals whose core responsibilities are to deliver highly technical/analytical skills and capable of using decision-making tools necessary to drive successful solutions throughout the Comprehensive Solutions (CS) Business. These individuals have a proven history of assisting in the development of large complex turnkey and performance contract projects. These individuals have the creative, highly technical and interpersonal skill-sets to develop appropriate standards, tools and offerings to enable and ensure local office success throughout the country. These individuals have diverse experience in all markets to enable Comprehensive Solutions success in ALL vertical markets. These are motivated, skilled and experienced individuals managing technical evaluations and solutions that support the project development process.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other functions may be assigned.
- Assist in the provision of standard, as well as, “out-of –the –box,” technical solutions that enhance the project development process.
- Must have ability to research and apply local and/or regional utility rebate and/or incentive offerings.
- Stay current on new technological offerings and procedures to lead or support piloting of new offerings
- Conduct tariff analyses.
- Collect and analyze utility billing history to develop load profiles and benchmarking.
- Develop and construct preliminary and detailed building simulations using TRACE 700.
- Assist in scope development, estimates and final proposals prior to submission.
- Develop measurement and verification approach and guarantee methodology.
- Has Energy Industry knowledge in developing energy conservation or displacement projects such as Cogeneration, Demand Side Management, Supply-Side Management or HVAC energy reduction projects.
- Possess the ability to perform on-site surveys and understand the operation of mechanical, controls and electrical systems.
- Provides technical analysis/review for Performance Contracting projects; providing project risk assessment.
- Customizes software and spreadsheets to achieve desired technical results and presentations.
- Analyze data output for trends and/or any deviations that need further investigating.
- Applies knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
- Provides engineering direction and support to other team members.
- Reviews equipment submittals for incorporation into design.
- Approximately 25% Travel with overnight stays.
- Flexibility to work outside normal work hours/weekends, as required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Prefer a professional engineer (P.E.), but would consider a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and three (3) years experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge and experience with HVAC, control, electrical systems and proficiency with energy analysis tools such as TRACE 700 and System Analyzer. Working knowledge of cost and savings studies incorporating energy conversation measures for complex solutions.
