Energy Risk Manager (LNG) recruitment

Our client, a Houston-based boutique LNG trading house, is seeking to hire an experienced quantitative Energy Commodities Risk Manager to provide support to the firm’s trading desks through the analysis of market and credit risk.

The successful candidate will be expected to take ownership of analyzing the risks inherent in high value cargo trading transactions involving both physical trades and paper hedges, to include; quantitative analysis and the development of risk management tools/models while working closely with the trading desk and senior management, providing input on deal decisions and developing a clear understanding of the market risk and FX risk for LNG cargoes. Additionally, the Risk Manager will also develop and implement a credit risk policy for counterparties and add value from a risk perspective to any special projects /transactions as required.  

A minimum of 5 – 7 years’ risk experience in an energy trading environment is required for this business critical role. Strong systems knowledge, in particular OpenLink Endur, is also favored. A Masters degree in a quantitative discipline is strongly preferred as is the CFA or FRM designation.
