Engine CAE Engineer Job in Nottinghamshire, Midlands Uk

This is an exciting career opportunity for an experienced Engine CAE Engineer.

The Role:

Provide support to the engine performance, emissions and mechanical development.

Provide support to the engine design, development and verification through computer-based methods.

Assist with engine development programs.

Involve and contribute in early concept design stage of lube and cooling systems.

Engage in supplier selection process and clear communication of system requirement.

Work closely with designer/component engineer and supplier to ensure best value for money technology is selected.

Responsible for engine lube and cooling system 1D (GT-Suite) and 3D CFD (Star-CCM+) analysis.

Advise the design team and chief engineer what changes need to be made to improve the system performance.

May be required to work on fuel system 1D analysis when needed.

Requirements:

Degree qualified or similar qualification.

Excellent analytical skills.

Must have strong technical skills and ability to communicate technical information effectively.

Capable of working efficiently as part of a small team to tight deadlines.

Capable of leading a project element with support from more senior staff when necessary.

Effective team member contributing to improvements and high customer service.

Proven working experience in engine cooling and lubrication areas.

Experience user of GT-Suite (GT-Power, GT-Lube, GT-Cool etc) or equivalent.

Previous experience using 3D CFD code such as Fluent and Star-CCM+ is plus.

Proficient in Matlab, Fortran or C++.

Clear understanding of heat transfer and fluid flow and latest cooling lube technology.

Working knowledge of water pump, oil pump, cooling and lube system and vehicle thermal requirement like cabin heating etc.
