Qualifications: Distribution Engineering seeks to hire a highly motivated management professional to join its Secondary System Analysis group. The successful candidate must understand the vital importance of commitment to excellence and providing exemplary customer service. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required. Electrical Engineering and Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure track preferred. Demonstrated ability to engineer, schedule and control moderate to complex engineering projects, programs, and analytical assignments. Excellent written, oral and verbal communication skills. Computer proficient in MS Office and Windows Operating Systems. General knowledge and experience with Tableau, programming, server operation, and network hardware is preferred.

Associate Engineer A: Two or more years in the design, operation, or engineering of electrical facilities and systems.
Engineer: Four or more years in the design, operation, or engineering of electrical facilities and systems.
Sr. Engineer: Seven or more years in the design, operation, or engineering of electrical facilities and systems.

Must have valid driver's license. Must be willing and able to travel within Company service territory, as needed.

Responsibilities: Ensure implementation of Company safety, health and environmental programs for employees whose work is directed. Ensure that safe work practices are followed and the environment is fully protected in accordance with Company policy and governmental regulations. Commitment to the Way We Work Principles, and adheres to the Company’s Standards of Business Conduct and other Company procedures including Environmental, Health and Safety (“EHS”), Equal Employment Opportunity (“EEO”), discipline, and security. Design, advance, and integrate equipment to monitor, test, and troubleshoot the low voltage system. Model and analyze the secondary system electrically, including short circuit, impedance, and voltage studies. Enter, review, and trend secondary system performance data, including energized objects and electric shock reports. Perform root cause analysis of secondary events including manhole explosions, fires, and shocks through field visits, research, and modeling. Monitor Public Service Commission mandated inspections and Quality Assurance programs. Provide recommendations and strategies for future event prevention and mitigation. Review and prepare drawings, specifications, proposals, and procedures. Conduct cost/benefit analysis of alternative designs and programs. Assist Electric Operations Regional staff during various emergencies in assessing, documenting, and analyzing the impact of an emergency. Develop state-of-the-art specific technical expertise in assignments through contact and interaction with leading experts in the technical community. Serve on industry technical committees, including representing the section at various technical meetings. Respond to emergency calls by operating departments and makes field decisions within his/her area of responsibility. Engineer and create test plans to simulate steady state and transient system and environmental conditions through the use of a waveform generator and other test bench equipment. Understand and review commercial equipment specifications for target applications. Identify equipment and cable defects by inspection and testing. Assist Engineers, Managers, Specialists, and other Distribution Engineering staff in the performance of their tasks as necessary to accomplish the objectives of the Organization.
