The Applied Technology Organization within Goodrich Sensors and Integrated Systems is looking for an engineer/scientist with weapon seeker experience. The successful candidate will have a broad technical background with experience in systems engineering, photonics, software, electrical engineering or physics. Experience developing terminal homing seeker systems for precision guided weapon platforms is critical.

The candidate must be capable of functioning in a multi-disciplinary product development and system integration team. Competencies important for this position are:

Primary Responsibilities

This position involves engineering development of advanced terminal guidance seekers, which may include multiple sensors and specialized data processors. Experience in the areas of GNC, electro-optics, flight controls, modeling, simulation and embedded real-time systems, as well as systems engineering would be advantageous. Specifically, we are looking for experience across the following areas:

* Seeker and system functional allocation, requirements development, design synthesis and performance trade offs
* System performance modeling, simulation, and analysis employing Matlab/Simulink and supporting toolsets
* Semi Active Laser (SAL), Infrared imaging (LWIR, MWIR, SWIR) and Millimeter Wave Radar sensor engineering
* Concept of operations for SAL and/or autonomous seeker systems
* Software, electrical, mechanical and optical systems integration
* Autonomous target acquisition, recognition and tracking algorithms
* Verification, Validation and Acceptance Processes

A bachelor's degree in engineering or physics is required with at least 8 years of related experience. An advanced technical degree is preferred.
