Full Job Description

To take responsibility for determining the capital requirements of the firm including the assessment of both regulatory and economic capital of the firm on a day to day and forward looking basis. This involves having solid understanding of the methodologies applied, the key risk drivers and assessing and highlighting the impact of potential vulnerabilities. Interpreting regulatory rules and developing appropriate policies will form a key aspect of this role.
Main responsibilities of the department include:

- Management and assessment of Regulatory risk under UKFSA rules, this includes Capital and Liquidity Risk
- Management Assessment of Economic risks of the firm
- Scenario Stress Testing
- Risk Governance including back testing and ongoing model validation
- Management Information on risk, capital and liquidity to Board various Committees

In addition, the department has involvement in a large number of firm-wide projects.
Key responsibilities:

- Daily production of capital results and explaining reasons for significant fluctuations at both entity and at business line level
- Performing and highlighting results of capital stresses e.g. impact of downgrades, what if scenarios
- Detailed and up to date understanding of regulatory developments e.g. CRD4, EMIR, Dodd Frank
- Providing impact assessments and implement regulatory changes at both entity and business line l

Required skills and experience:

- Sound experience within regulatory risk environment. Solid understanding of FSA BIPRU and GENPRU requirements, in particular for trading activities including derivatives
- Degree (or equivalent) in a numerical bias subject. Strong mathematical background
- Good understanding of a broad range of financial products
- Excellent Excel knowledge and experience of Access and VBA preferable
