US prop fund is looking to expand their operations across New Jersey and Chicago with the addition of entry level research scientists with strong technical skills.

Company

Based in New York our client focuses on statistical arbitrage trading across the electronic trading markets in the US. The focus historically has been on trading within the FX and futures markets but the group are now expanding across asset classes. Due to expansion plans they are looking to bring on board junior researchers scientists to be actively involved in all aspects of research and technology within the business.

The Role

You will be working in a very technology driven environment- alongside senior researchers and scientists with backgrounds coming from IT and software. The responsibilities will involve researching, adapting and designing from scratch mathematical models that can capture price discrepancies within financial markets, using machine learning techniques to design algorithms and fully being involved in all developing new technological ideas that can contribute to optimising the groups IT and trading performance.

The group has a very entrepreneurial and innovative working environment with technological advances coming from within. Part of this culture has been to bring on board candidates that have a thirst for learning and building new things- a key eye for curiosity and experimenting with technology is highly desirable.  

Ideally you will have a background in Computer Engineering, computer science or software engineering and have strong programming skills in C++ and C, and be looking to build a long-term career within a fast paced and rewarding environment.

• Good educational background with a research and technology focus- from a top tier US institution.

• Strong programming skills- ideally in C++ and C.

• Looking to build a long-term career within a research and technology driven environment.

• Technically very strong; experience with data structures, algorithms and open source is highly desirable.
