Environmental & Compliance Manager Job in Birmingham, Midlands Uk
Environmental Compliance Manager required for large manufacturer. Our client is part of an International group and a world leader in recycling and packaging. They have an immediate requirement for an Environmental Compliance Manager at their Birmingham plant.

Reporting to the Operations Director, main duties will include ensuring legal compliance with relevant environmental legislation in line with the company's environmental permit (IPPC) as well as development and maintenance of the Integrated Management System (IMS).
Ideally the successful applicant will hold a minimum of associate level membership of IEMA or CIWEM and be a trained internal auditor. Previous experience will be essential as will a good working knowledge of the Environmental Permitting Regulations, ISO 14001, ISO 9001 and OHSAS18011. Knowledge of EN15593 GMP standard; FSC and PEFC Chain of Custody Standards and ISO 16001 Energy Management would be seen as an advantage.
Excellent communication and presentation skills as well as the ability to communicate with colleagues at all levels within the organisation would be essential attributes.
To manage all aspects of the Compliance department, including part time support (Compliance Assistant).
Take part in the activities of the Senior Team and be a fully functioning member of that team.
Introduce other compliance related systems and project work as required by the organisation.
To be on the Duty Manager's rota, this involves being on call approximately 1 week in 8.
Available to handle all out of hours Compliance issues.
Available to carry out Emergency Team duties with the Senior Management Team.
Able to travel occasionally in order to take part in group and external conferences and meetings.
Communicate all Compliance issues to the Company wide whether locally on the plant or collectively at a Team Briefing.
