Tetra Tech EM Inc., a subsidiary of Tetra Tech, is currently seeking a full-time Environmental Scientist, Chemist, Geologist, or Engineer to support environmental projects in our Denver, Colorado office.

The selected candidate may have responsibilities including Phase I due diligence projects, desktop reviews of historical site data, field visits to document environmental conditions at sites, support site assessments and remedial investigations, report preparation, and project administration assistance. Depending on candidate’s educational and work background, responsibilities may also include review and interpretation of chemical data and data validation reports, data tabulation, report writing.

It is anticipated that this position will initially consist primarily of office support work and occasional field efforts involving sampling and site visits. Tasks may include providing environmental compliance support, due diligence, storm water inspections, groundwater sampling, document research, report preparation, and data management.

Job Requirements:
The ideal candidate should have at least 1 - 3 years of environmental or related experience. Previous experience with site investigations and assessments, Phase I ESA (ASTM) and Phase II site characterization, NEPA reviews, field sampling, tank inspection, remediation, and regulatory compliance is desirable. Experience in groundwater modeling, groundwater/soil sampling, well logging/installation is a plus.  Prior experience with soil, groundwater, or surface water sampling, NEPA-related field surveys, sample coordination with analytical laboratories, or storm water inspections a plus.

Strong analytical and organizational skills and excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) are required. Effective multi-tasking and self-prioritization abilities are necessary. Candidate should be proficient with MS Office applications Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat. Proficiency with MS Access, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and GIS applications are a plus.
 
Must be highly motivated and client-focused, must exhibit attention to detail and a focus on quality, and must work well in a team environment. Must have experience writing technical papers or reports. Strong written and verbal communications skills are a must. Must be able to manage time well and work on tasks as part of a larger project team.
 
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Geology, or Environmental or Civil Engineering. Must have the ability and willingness to obtain 40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER training.
 
Position requires a motor vehicle record (MVR) background check. A valid driver’s license and ability to drive to work sites is a requirement.

The physical demands of this position require the ability to get around project sites (sometimes over uneven terrain) and must be physically able to lift and carry equipment such as maps, GPS unit, sampling and field screening equipment and a camera during field work. Position may require up to 25% travel, with occasional overnight stays. Field work is often conducted in remote or natural areas, and weather conditions can vary.
