Position Overview and Responsibilities:
Talisman is currently seeking to fill the position of Environmental Specialist. The primary responsibility of this role is the provision of environmental management support to our shale gas development operations in Texas. The Environmental Specialist will be responsible for the identification of significant environmental issues facing Talisman's development activities and working with internal and external stakeholders on the development and implementation of solutions and mitigations. The Environmental Specialist will be required to provide regular support and management for the following types of issues:
*Environmental regulatory compliance
*Assessment of environmental impacts
*Forecasting of environmental policy and stakeholder concerns
*Environmental planning
*Stakeholder engagement (consultation and collaboration with regulators, public, industry)
*Spill prevention, preparedness and response
*Surface and groundwater resource management
*Drilling and completions waste management
*Air quality management
*Development of environmental practices and procedures
*Environmental reporting
Qualifications:
*B.S. in an Environmental Science or Engineering
*5-10 years experience dealing with environmental issues typical of oil and gas operations and other resource development industries.

*A strong functional understanding of state and federal environmental regulatory requirements, processes, facilities, and attendant environmental risks and opportunities
*A well-developed ability to interpret complex environmental and stakeholder situations and implement effective solutions.
*Problem solving abilities and technical skills will be required to address a full range of projects and your success will rely on your ability to effectively communicate with both internal and external stakeholders.
*Strong organizational skills and thrive on managing multiple priorities and risks in a fast-paced business environment
*Self-motivated and can work effectively both independently and in collaboration with others of differing technical and non-technical backgrounds
*Superior time management skills enable you to meet deadlines, deal quickly with frequent requests for immediate support, and at times manage an active travel schedule.
