SSI is recruiting for an Equine Trainer / Counselor to staff a contract supporting the US Army Garrison Command Group, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, Caisson Platoon, Fort Sam Houston, TX. Specific duties include:
· Provide training of soldiers in horsemanship; provide input into development and maintenance of training plans
· Provide assistance in maintaining training and maintenance records on horses and horse detachment members, including proficiency in both hose skills and soldier skills
· Train all new horses and assist in the maintenance of statistics on all horses
· Train all rides on proper riding, grooming, saddling, and maintenance of horses
· Attend official ceremonies
· Assist in the procurement process with horse, stable and related equipment and supplies.
Required Education: High School Diploma / GED Certificate
Experience Required: Extensive experience as a Horse / Personnel Trainer and Stable Master
