Description
This position is an add to staff at a well-established $100B+ AUM investment/money management firm located in the New York City area. Mutual funds and separately managed accounts are the core businesses of the organization and these products are sold directly to pension funds, retirement plans and other institutions and well as to and through intermediaries and financialadvisors.
The purpose of the job is part of an effort to broaden and deepen the exposure and business opportunities for the firm's equity mutual funds and other equity products across all distribution channels.
Job Description
Demonstrate a deep understanding of the firm’s equity investment capabilities, capital markets and overall investment environment.
- Participate in product development, including product creation and repositioning.
- Lead marketingand communicationsstrategies to grow the firm’s equity asset base.
- Partner with retail and institutional salesteams to properly position the firm’s capabilities to prospects and relevant gatekeepers.
- Coordinate with Product Research to develop a deep understanding of product positioningvs. competitors (performance, portfolio structuring, asset flows, etc.).
- Monitor search work, know who is winning and losing assets and why.
- Analyze industry flows, product positioningissues, and perceived product strengths and weaknesses including how to address any objections that have been uncovered.
- Provide periodic, timely product information to the firm and various constituents.
- Support training efforts product advocacy across the firm.
Qualifications
- 10+ yearsworking experience – especially with equity investment exposure and institutional client experience.
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Strong quantitative skills.
