Job Description -
Candidate will work within the Research Product Development Department and collaborate frequently with counterparts in Products and Services. This position offers hands-on experience in the development and support of new and existing exchange derivative products with a focus on equities, but an opportunity to grow into related financial sectors including interest rates and FX.
In the position, the candidate will undertake the following responsibilities: (1) engage in quantitative/statistical research related to exchange listed futures and options on futures markets and related OTC markets; (2) produce relevant research reports and collateral material that may be used both internally and externally to support CME Group listed and cleared products; (3) develop, maintain, and operate databases and computerized applications to support current and prospective CME Group derivatives products.
Typical projects may include an analysis of the pricing characteristics of an existing or prospective exchange listed derivative product; comparing risk attributes of options on equity futures to options on cash equity indexes, creation and support of automated tools to support real-time pricing of equity index futures and options on equity index futures; historical simulation of the equity index futures and options pricing; derivatives product risk evaluation, forecasting, and data archival.
Qualifications -
- Master's Degree in relevant field, e.g., Financial Engineering, Financial Mathematics, Finance, or Economics, preferred.
- Five plus (5+) years experience in quantitative/statistical analysis desired. Background in options market applications is preferred.
- Experience in futures trading and markets. Other derivative product background is a plus.
- Proficiency in R, C/C++, VBA, Matlab, or other mathematical computational software packages is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Being a self-starter is a must.
