Our client is a locally-managed construction company which offers general contracting and design/build services to industrial, institutional and commercial clients in the Lower Mainland.  The company has successfully operated in the BC market for decades, and has consistently grown their staff and client base. Our client works on a wide assortment of projects, most in the and $15 million range. The company culture is positive, professional and supportive.  

 

The Role:

In response to continued growth, the Company seeks a Site Superintendent to join their team in Vancouver.  The Superintendent will be responsible for managing all site-level aspect of new construction projects for Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional clients.  Specifically, the Superintendent will:

·        Work with the Project Manager to develop an accurate Project Schedule;

·        Manage sub-contractors on a daily basis to ensure that work is done accurately and at an acceptable level or quality.

·        Proactively identify, address and resolve site-level issues as well as anticipate and escalate issues that are beyond the scope of your responsibilities to the Project Manager; and

·        Ensure that our client's stringent health, safety, project quality and environmental standards are met.

 

The Candidate:

Applicants for this role must have the following:

 

·        A minimum of 10 years LOCAL experience as a Site Superintendent, ideally working on Commercial and Industrial projects: Tilt-ups, Concrete, Steel Frame/Panel, etc.

·        Proven success managing ICI construction projects in the range of to $30 million;

·        The confidence and experience to work effectively with little supervision;

·        A willingness to explore innovative and creative solutions;

·        Strong communication skills, the ability to communicate well with peers, managers and trades; and

·        A commitment to and passion for a career in construction.
