European Institutional Sales – Switzerland recruitment
Our client is well positioned to build sales in the region through the institutional channel and has already made some inroads in the market through global investment consulting firms. You will be responsible for building new direct relationships and expanding existing relationships with institutional clients across a range of asset classes including Fixed Income, managing local investment consultant relationships and servicing locally based representatives of global consulting firms, winning new business and growing revenues.
Working in partnership with the rest of the European sales team, you will:
•Contribute to the development of the overall institutional business development strategy and help to implement the strategy - achieving personal sales target within the timescales set.
•Open doors, build relationships and conduct effective, professional presentations on the agreed product range in a manner that supports business objectives and delivers clear, concise and relevant information.
•Carry out finals presentations in conjunction with Portfolio Managers.
•Organise and implement entertainment and external events such as seminars for prospects and attend relevant industry events in the region.
•Maintain contact tracking information for all key contacts so that accurate, up-to-date information is stored regarding these contacts. Ensure that all meeting notes are accurately written up in a timely manner.
•Manage internal contacts to support sales activity and provide feedback on market and prospect knowledge to support and develop business strategy.
Key Skills Required:
- The priority in terms of skills required will be knowledge of and sales track record in the institutional market in Switzerland and an in-depth understanding of the asset gathering process. An established, demonstrable network and experience of all matters pertaining to this client base is required.
- Degree qualification plus IMC/CFA/MBA qualification desirable.
- 10+ years’ experience within a sales and/or client relationship management environment, or other comparable position.
- Ability to work independently, with a high level of organisation, personal initiative and resilience yet a proven ability to work well in a team.
- Excellent language skills.
- High levels of motivation and willingness to travel to the region on a regular basis.
- Strong technical knowledge of investment theory and practice across asset classes, with a preference for prior Fixed Income experience.
