Responsibilities

The Role
The Events and Outreach Manager will develop and project manage the strategic events plan which promotes and showcases Moody's Analytics product-set via premium, market and mass market activities.

Key responsibilities include:

Strategy and Project Management:
- Develop the strategic outreach program which meets broad business objectives
- Execute the full event plan in accordance with the program and in line with targets and benchmarks
- Develop, apply, and share best practices across the global events teams
- Utilize discretion in planning various events, including complex multi-media programs
- Ensure programs are executed in accordance with Moody's event standards and escalate, mitigate and resolve problems, including onsite management
- Effective project management, collaboration and continual review and improvement of processes, practices and systems
- Ongoing evaluation and adaptation of events plans to meet current business needs
- Keep abreast of wider industry initiatives and trends - to report regularly to the business and enhance future strategic planning

Stakeholder Management:
- Secure alignment of the strategic plan
- Act as single point of contact working with MDs, Product Strategy, Analysts and Sales
- Establish and manage relationships with key third party event organizers and vendors, including sourcing contract negations and sponsorships

Reporting:
- Responsible for the collection and analysis of events data; measurement and reporting of activities including attendance, feedback and trends
- Preparation and delivery of presentations to senior management and/or key stakeholders at regularly scheduled intervals
- Identify qualitative and quantitative measures, establish metrics, including Return On Investment (ROI)

Budget Management
- Exercising judgment and good business sense in spend of events and LOB budgets
- Responsible for the budgeting and tracking of all events, including forecasting and accruals; ensure all invoices received, coded and processed in a timely fashion
- Ensure events program is delivered within or under budget

Marketing Communications
- Develop new marketing/outreach strategies for specific and more general activities in order to increase retention, raise awareness, and generate new business activity
- Identify target audiences and coordinate the building of invitation lists
- Ensure that appropriate marketing communication mix is implemented for pre- and post-event communications, moodys.com and third party advertising
- Apply brand guidelines in accordance with corporate standards
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree is required
- Minimum five years experience of managing a portfolio of events in a financial services organization
- Project management skill set/certification preferred
- Marketing skill set including data and campaign management
- Budget management, forecasting and reporting
- Well developed IT skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, CRM
- Good written, verbal and analytical skills
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong professional relationships at all levels
- Highly organized and efficient team player
- Excellent attention to detail
- Work pro-actively and multi-task; work to tight deadlines and under pressure
- Work independently, using own initiative and without close supervision
- Ability to ensure ongoing self development
- Independent travel to events
