FIX Connectivity Engineer (UNIX, SQL) recruitment
This global group is looking for a seasoned trading technology expert who is used to working in a high frequency technology intensive environment. Working with the cutting edge technologies involved in this space they are looking for an Engineer who is able to resolve low level technology issues quickly and competently for Pan Asian clients.
The core responsibilities will involve the support of their high volume FIX order execution system from their numerous clients to various exchanges, MTF's, brokers and between various internal systems. You will be well versed ideally in Asian exchanges as well as EMEA markets exchanges and know the various exchange protocols for each. FIX knowledge is key and the ability to decode messages without the aid of a GUI or 3rd party program will reduce key down time.
To be considered they are looking for a degree educated (or equivalent) individual in a computer science, or IT engineering based background. You will have managed and be comfortable working within large, scalable, live production systems and have a solid understanding of the financial markets. You will have strong communication skills and be comfortable liaising with your financial peers globally.
From a technology viewpoint, you will have solid system skills including UNIX platform knowledge and resolve low to high level issues daily. You will have solid command line level(CLI) and can engineer solutions to most problems. UNIX Scripting experience is essential (Bourne, Korn or Bash) as well as SQL for simple DB queries.
Any working exposure with Tokyo Stock Exchange connections as well as any Japaneselanguage skills is highly beneficial (but definitely not a prerequisite for this role).
This is a high profile key hire for this group and you will be the lynch pin for their Asian operations.
