Exchange Operations Associate, Middle Office
Overview of Role:
The Exchange Operations role sits within the Middle Office team and is responsible for the management of all aspects of post execution trade flow for the Futures Energy businesses, until the point the trade is cleared or handed off to Customer Services / Settlements.
Other responsibilities include:
? Monitoring emails sent to the group mail address, and ensuring that any queries received from ether internal or external sources, are dealt with in a timely manner.
? Escalate any issues to the relevant Manager, as appropriate.
? Fulfil any additional / ad hoc duties as required to meet the needs of the business.
? Continual review of processes to ensure efficient work flow.
? Understanding your role to best of your abilities and in a professional manner.
? Acting with integrity, due skill, care and diligence in the discharge of your responsibilities.
? Observing proper standards of conduct in the discharge of your duties.
? Maintaining an up to date knowledge of the markets in which you specialise.
? Informing your regional manager of any potential compliance issues.
Qualifications Competencies
Skills:
? Skilled in Microsoft application software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc).
? Strong communications skills, both verbally and orally
? An analytical and logical approach to problem solving
? The ability to work on your own initiative
Knowledge:
? Understanding of Wholesale Financial Services.
? Comprehensive knowledge of the life cycle of an exchange and/or OTC trade.
? Good understanding of inter dealing broking.
Experience:
? Essential experience in a Middle Office Operations role.
? Desired experience in Futures/Derivatives products.
? Desired experience of dealing with clearing houses/exchanges.
? Desired experience of working within an investment bank, hedge fund or inter-dealer broker.
