Executive Compensation, Mobility & Employee Tax Specialist recruitment

Duties to include:
• Provision of tax analysis/advice to the HR generalists and business units for international moves/issues. This includes provision of cost projections and tax analysis to the HR generalists and business units.
• Working with the Indirect Tax group, Controllers, Legal and external counsel to manage and regularise cross border mobility situations with the business units. Ensuring Firm compliance in the fields of income tax and social security reporting/withholding where cross-border and multi-state working issues arise. Liaison with Corporate Tax over permanent establishment issues, and with Legal over employment law issues.
• Management of the tax compliance process for the inter and intra-European and emerging market international assignees, working with employees, business units, Legal, Controllers and external counsel.
• Meetings with senior inbound and outbound assignees to discuss the tax ramifications of their assignment, including tax compliance/tax equalisation issues of their assignment.
• Ad hoc tax and social security planning around assignee moves.
• Payroll liaison on general expatriate issues as well as on broader statutory reporting requirements e.g. P11d preparation and PAYE Settlement Agreement (PSA).
• Project management of key International Services (IS) initiatives e.g. policy redesigns and tax equalisation changes.
Executive Compensation

Duties to include:
• Provide ongoing support to the HR generalists, business units and employees with respect to all of the Firm’s Executive Compensation plans.
• Liaison with the New York Executive Compensation team to ensure all EMEA originated issues/queries are resolved.
• Ad hoc training of HR generalists on Executive Compensation matters.
• Responsibility for the Firm’s European restricted stock unit conversion/option exercise tax withholding verifications, and payroll reporting.
• Fulfilling statutory reporting requirements on employer compliance related to deferred compensation plans, e.g. Form 42 to HMRC.
• Assistance with the annual Long Term Incentive Compensation (LTIC) review – including the International Tax Supplement, and review of LTIC relevant tax changes.
• Planning and execution of key project deliverables e.g. salary sacrifice/bonus waiver schemes such as the Cycle2Work scheme and the Share Ownership Plan (SOP).
• Provide support to the management of the new hire equity award stock buyout process.
• Assisting Legal and HR generalists with Compromise Agreements – Executive Compensation wording, ad hoc advice.
General

Duties to include:
• Provide support to the function head on key Firm EMEA project initiatives.
• Day-to-day oversight and management of the Dual Contract process, and assistance with the Year End Dual Contractor process.
• Assistance with the Senior Advisor programme and assistance with the Year End Senior Advisor process.
• Build strong relationships with Controllers, Payroll Admin, Legal, Corporate Tax, HR generalists, business units, senior employees and external vendors.

Role Support

International Services (IS) is supported by a dedicated HR Shared Service Centre in Edinburgh. In addition, the successful candidate will be supported by a London based associate (IS and certain Exec Comp focus).

Skills Required:

• Degree or equivalent.
• Good technical understanding of UK, US and EMEA personal tax principles.
• ATT qualified or equivalent.
• Strong commercial awareness.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
