Executive Director – Compliance recruitment

Our client is an investment banking group that is committed to providing world-class financial services for a sustainably better future for their customers and their shareholders. They offer a diverse range of products and have an excellent reputation on the market place.

The city based London office has circa 350 staff and there are 1500 employees worldwide. An exciting opportunity has just arisen within their London compliance team and they are recruiting at senior level for an Executive Director to mange the monitoring and surveillance programme and to also assist in other key areas of compliance such as advisory, regulatory training, new product approval, running of the Global Control Room, assisting with the prevention of financial crime and regulatory policy development.

This is a very broad and varied role and the job holder can expect to become immediately visible and contribute to building the infrastructure of a developing investment bank.  In addition, there will be a broad exposure to a number of products and asset classes and the opportunity to work as part of project management teams to help implement new products and systems.

The role will not have any direct supervisory responsibilities but it is envisaged that the role will, from time to time, have to manage virtual teams of people in a project management capacity as well as the occasional day to day task management of individuals without having line management responsibilities.

Relevant industry experience is essential and the role requires an experienced compliance professional with “hands on” development skills in implementing, deploying and maintaining a compliance monitoring surveillance framework. The position may suit a compliance professional with a “quasi audit” approach to the performance of routine and ad hoc compliance reviews of specific markets and banking activities.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and expanding investment bank that can offer fantastic rewards and remuneration to the right candidate.
