The primary purpose of this role:
Reporting to the General Manager of IBB Strategic Risk, Policy and Planning, this position carries accountability for the end-to-end development, articulation, communication and governance of credit policy applicable to both the Institutional Banking and Markets (IBM) and Business and Private Banking (BPB) business units.
More specifically your main duties will include:
- Leading a team of experienced Risk professionals to deliver high standards of service to internal stakeholders in articulating credit policy and providing 'trusted advisor' support on all policy aspects.
- Supporting the Chief Risk Officer of IBB and IBB Leadership Team, as a guardian of credit policies.
- Working with stakeholders to drive cultural change toward credit risk. The key objective is to develop a culture that balances risk, return and growth to maximise sustainable net profit.
- Working with internal stakeholders to ensure the credit policy framework remains effective, efficient and delivers value to both the BPB and IBM businesses.
- Facilitating responses to APRA and Board Risk Committee requirements, and any other obligations that may arise.
We are seeking an experienced people leader with:
- Extensive experience in a credit-related rolewithin financial services.
- Familiarity withcredit origination and decisioning policies processes.
- Tertiary qualification in a finance or economics discipline.
- Exposure to process improvement initiatives and experience in coordinating system changes will be highly regarded.
