Responsibilities

This position is an Executive Producer for MSNBC “The Andrea Mitchell show. The Executive Producer supervises and oversees the editorial vision of the weekday programming hours.

  • Supervise and oversee the editorial vision of weekday hour

  • Responsible for the editorial planning process

  • Copy Edit all scripts

  • Coach and mentor show staff including Sr Producers

  • Control room supervisor

    • Qualifications/Requirements

    Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have at least 8 years of experience in live television (i.e. morning shows, cable shows, broadcast TV, etc).

  • Minimum of 1 year working in a politically focused programming and possess a strong political accument.

  • Must have at least 3 years of experience managing a team.

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, under tight deadline pressure, including breaking news

  • Must be willing to work in NYC.

  • Must be willing to take drug test and submit to a background investigation.

  • Must be 18 years or older.

    • Desired Characteristics

  • Master’s degree in journalism preferred

  • Exceptional editorial skills: Ability to recognize stories with high potential for provocative, compelling television.

  • Strong knowledge of current events, politics and pop culture.

  • Up to date on periodicals, including Op-Eds.
