Exercise Remedial Instructor 7769

Hays are working with The Ministry of Defence to recruit a Remedial Instructor to work with the Royal Marines in Exeter.

The locum would be expected to provide a rehabilitation service within a station gymnasium Mon-Fri. The work typically involves assessing and rehabilitating a wide range of predominantly musculo-skeletal injuries, either individually or in a group setting. Effective communication with patients, physiotherapists and Unit Health Committees is essential. Exercise prescription must be appropriate to the patients ability and exercise progression logically sequenced. Patients who falter or develop an exacerbation of their symptoms must be identified and promptly referred back to the nominated physiotherapist. An understanding of the physical demands imposed by the military environment is advantageous.

Essential Requirements:

To be able to provide a high standard of exercise rehabilitation to Service personnel.
To be proficient in the assessment,rehabilitation and exercise progression of musculo-skeletal and sports injuries.
To be comfortable working unsupervised and liaising frequently with their nominated physiotherapist.
Must have the confidence and ability to project themselves when taking group therapy sessions.
Should be able to work within a multi-disciplinary team.

To have experience of working within military physiotherapy circles.
To be familiar Defence Medical Information Capability Programme.
Be an active participant in the in-service training programme.
