Description
The team is responsible for representing our client’s EMEA businesses both externally and internally at governance forums. You will work closely with each individual boutique to receive input and also to ensure they are kept fully informed. An important aspect of the team’s responsibility is to coordinate shared learning and encourage best practices across the boutique businesses that together comprise EMEA Asset Management. There is a particular focus on regulatory compliance, effective governance and risk management. Areas of further focus may include identifying and addressing issues in areas of operations and business partner functions, as well as engaging with strategic projects.
Specific duties include:
Reporting and management information
- Coordinate information for reporting purposes
- Review, analyse and prepare accurate and timely management information
- Ensure appropriate reporting and escalation of issues from Asset Management within the EMEA governance structure
Meeting and oversight
- Monthly management review meetings with key international businesses
- Deputise at key committees acting as a representative of asset management
- Monitor key business initiatives
Business management
- Partner with risk, internal audit and compliance to track and resolve open audit or regulatory issues
- Assist with resolution of issues and errors
- Proactively share lessons learned and champion best practice across the boutiques
- Participate or lead asset management projects of a regulatory, risk or business nature
- Assist with developing guidance and policy documents for Asset Management
- Investigate and respond to ad-hoc queries
- Act as a liaison point for EMEA Asset Management
- Develop a strong network of contacts within the asset management boutiques
- Assist the Chief Operating Officer as required
Requirements
Key skills include:
- A broad knowledge of asset management and interaction with other financial services
- Previous experience of regulatory compliance, governance and risk management would be an advantage
- Strong analytical skills with a focus on accuracy and timeliness with a good sense for what may be relevant and material
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
- Experience in planning and execution of projects and business initiatives
- A proactive, self – starter who is able to work independently while knowing when to seek advice
- Organised with good time management skills and capable of handling multiples tasks at once
