This Bunker Fuel Shipping and Trading firm is seeking an experienced Counterparty Credit Analyst to join their trading team carry out credit analysis, create ratings and set trading limits.
Role Profile
- To produce reports, using all research and investigative methods (e.g. on-line systems and filed documentation, credit agency information and discussions with market sources and contacts)
- To develop the ability to appraise the subject companies and produce a balanced credit recommendation
- To maintain at all times, the quality of content, presentation and analysis required for all reports
- To work efficiently within time constraints, planning and prioritising, to ensure that credit recommendations and decisions are made to service the needs of the company¡¦s trading and senior management teams
- To converse with traders, shipping intelligence agencies, insurance companies and shipping companies thereby building up contacts within the market and ensuring that market intelligence is, at all times, current and relevant
- To ensure that all work is thorough, well-prepared and presented with clear recommendations having regard to the company¡¦s risk / reward requirements
- To monitor, police and enforce the credit risk policies of the company with the overarching objective of 'zero bad debts'
Ideal Candidate
- 2/3 years experience within credit analysis, preference for backgrounds within shipping/freight/bunker, also other commodities
- Experience or desire to work in a fast paced environment, with ability to make accurate and informed, quick decisions
- At least a Bachelors Degree upstanding
- Good team-working attitude but with the ability to work autonomously
