Experienced Emerging Markets / Latin America Economist Researcher required for top tier Hedge Fund – New York – Up to $200k + Bonus + Package recruitment
Montash Associates is partnering with a leading Hedge Fund, and are looking to source an experienced Economist/Researcher to join their Portfolio Management team.
This individual will be responsible for researching LatAm trends and current activity, supporting Portfolio Managers in the US, Asia and Europe. The firm is well established, trading across all asset classes and all EM regions, as well as some developed markets.
They have an established group of Economists/researchers that provide market insight to relevant parties internally. Currently, this team is spread across Europe and Asia, and they are now looking for an experienced individual to come on board, build out their team in the United States, and become the LatAm expert within the organisation.
The group is very collaborative, and there will be a lot of idea sharing between members. This role sits directly in the business, working directly with a host of senior Portfolio Managers.
They firm has a large amount of assets under management, and has been expanding steadily over the past 3 years. They cover all asset classes, and thus the role will be diverse and very interesting for the correct candidate. To confirm, this is not a trading role.
To summarise, the core requirements for this position are:
• 4-8 years’ experience as an Economist/Research/Strategist focussing on Latin America/Emerging Markets
• Strong academic track record. Post graduate degree in Economics strongly preferred
• Excellent communication skills
• Currently based in the US, New York is preferable
• Be able to work independently, and build a new team from scratch, whilst working in collaboration with the wider group
In return for this, there is an exceptional package on offer. Base salaries will be up to $200k depending upon the candidate. There will be an industry leading, hedge fund bonus on top of this, as well as an excellent benefits package.
