About the Job
Multiple positions currently exist within this large department for an experienced Front End Web Developer. Initially a 6 month contract there will the option to extend for an additional 6 months beyond.
As the User Interface (UI/UX) Developer you will:
Deliver high quality UI/UX functionality as prescribed by program and project mangers.
Undertake development activities as directed by the project manager.
Deliver quality documentation as defined by the Information and Technologies Branch within the Department.
Deliverables specific to the projects will be defined by the Project Manager and Lead Architect and may include but are not limited to high level application architecture and design, detailed design, technical infrastructure design for application integration and between existing and new systems.
To be suitable for this role you should possess the following:
Essential Skills:
1. Experience in UI/UX design for web applications (preferably for large government organisations).
2. Demonstrated experience in the development of web applications using HTML, CSS, JQuery.
3. Experience with Accessibility standards and progressive enhancement of web applications.
4. Experience and knowledge of WC3 standards, QGEA Information Standard IS26.
5. Experience with Agile or SCRUM software development methodologies and working with a team of software developers.
Desirable Skills:
1. Experience with graphic design.
2. Experience with ASP.Net MVC.
