External Debt Flow & Execution Trader, Asset Manager recruitment

External debt is a crucial element of Ashmore’s investment process, responsible for product development and management of External sovereign and quasi sovereign debt. We currently invest in 53 countries and over 50 quasi sovereign names, and retain overall fund responsibility for global funds and blended funds (mandate, restrictions performance, asset allocation, cash etc). Our traders sit with the portfolio managers ensuring best execution across our business.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Active following of both public and private credit markets for all sovereign and quasi sovereign credits across the entire credit spectrum from high grade to high yield, unrated and distressed names and across all regions (globally)

• Credit analysis

• Primary day to day responsibility for market interaction with all trading counterparties;

• Responsibility for trading and execution of all IC trade decisions;

• Management of trading for fund launches, inflows and redemptions.

• Team point person for Index-related matters;

Key Competencies Required for Role:

You will most likely be an Associate level trader from either the buy-side or sell-side, with specific experience in Fixed Income, which leans toward External Debt ( Sovereign

• Market knowledge per each respective geography regarding issuance history, trading, counterparties and overall risk environment;

• Basic credit analysis and industry knowledge in key sectors and geographies;

• Relative value analysis for trade recommendations and portfolio optimisation;

• Understanding of individual credit instruments and relevant structural features;

• Ability to source and trade portfolio instruments according to best market practice and execution;
