To perform support activities in the evaluation and analysis of engineering development, design, test, and manufacturing processes. Analyzes Air Force and aircraft manufacturer documentation and develops plans and/or strategies related to analysis and requirements traceability. Identifies applicable weapon system data based on technical background and hands-on experience. Evaluates maintenance procedures and fault isolation paths to determine concurrency between the applicable trainer and weapon system. Documents deficiencies in the trainer and makes recommendations for corrections and/or improvements. Evaluates projected changes to the weapon system and documents the necessary upgrades to keep the trainer concurrent with the weapon system and determines technical training requirements for improvements and/or modifications. Works with systems engineers and design engineers to evaluate, develop, and review training tasks and supports hardware and software design groups through knowledge and research of weapon systems operations. Assists with preparation of progress reports and presents progress, and/or schedule status to appropriate team lead. Ensures current and accurate requirements data by maintaining Prime Item Development Specifications (PIDS) and updating entries in requirements database and supporting equipment databases. Assists with prototype and validation testing of hardware and software components. Prepares engineering packages to facilitate the pricing of manufactured assemblies, researches parts, prepares work orders, and interfaces with vendors when necessary. Assists in developing test plans and estimates and supports physical configuration audits, contractor verification testing, and Government acceptance testing. Supports software integration through equipment validation, maintenance, data analysis, and backups and supports software/hardware integration. Support other tasks as necessary to support total program success.
